CARPA VERMELLA

Thursday, 14/09/2017 22:00

MATTHEW McDAID is a young singer-songwriter of Irish origin transplanted and well-rooted in the Collsacabra. His first album, Off the Beaten Track, is published this autumn with the record label of Joana Serrat, Great Canyon Records. The work is a collection of stories connecting with the tradition of the old folk composers but looking towards an imaginative interior with traces of psychedelia. From his redoubt of silence and contemplation in Rupit, he reels off pure emotions, with intimate subtlety or with an explosive force, and from the stillness and contact with nature he susses out precious, universal and moving tunes.

Muévelo Reina
SALA PASTERNAK

Friday, 15/09/2017 00:45

MUEVELOREINA have promoted an acid, political, aestheticist and catchy mutant project for about a year, and although they do it in their spare time, they have earned a place on stage. This duo, resident in Barcelona, has become known after releasing videos of songs with catchy sounds (mixes of Latin and electronic rhythms), with content that is sharp and critical of the evils of society. It is a very eclectic proposal, which is why it is so complicated to label it with a style, but they have called themselves 'electrapical music' (electronic, trap and tropical).

In pop-rock he has been part of the groups of Joseba Irazoki and Rafa Rueda, and in the world of folk, he has collaborated with Joseba Tapia. He has recently started his solo project, combining traditional and pop music with experimental and improvisation, without losing sight of the concept of song as a vehicle of expression.

Guillem Ramisa
JAZZ CAVA

Friday, 15/09/2017 20:00

Music and poetry come together in the new album that GUILLEM RAMISA presents, halfway between poetry and more intimate singer-songwriting. The love, life and warmth of the people who surround him form the basis on which the six songs contained in the work are sustained. Unlike previous ones, Simple Goodness (Supports RGB, 2017) is an album that is full of strength and richer and more compact sounds, extending the entire register of the author even further. Thus, the fusion between poems, reggae and proposals that make up this new album create a thread that links him with his audience. In addition, the singer-songwriter has incorporated new instruments like the trumpet and the saxophone in this new chapter of his musical career.

Withered hand & A singer of songs
JAZZ CAVA

Friday, 15/09/2017 21:30
An ecological farm in the middle of nowhere. Dry wind hitting the mountains. Dogs taking a lie-down in the sun. And horses. Always. This is the landscape that the Barcelona label Son Canciones chose to leave Scotsman Dan Willson (Withered Hand) and Belgian Lieven Scheerlinck (A Singer of Songs) to their luck in September 2016. They gave themselves a week to get acquainted, become friends, write six songs, record them and, incidentally, to plant garlic The result is Among Horses I (Son Canciones, 2017), an EP full of indie-folk that smells of earth and the rain that never comes.

Dani Nel·lo
AUDITORI ATLÀNTIDA

Friday, 15/09/2017 21:30

This project was born from the meeting between DANI NEL·LO and the so-called Saxofonistes Salvatges, creators of a musical language by way of the saxophone who were the cornerstone of rock'n'roll, and who left their mark on the history of pop music in the 20th century forever. The project includes the vocals of musicians like Noble Watts or Red Prysock, who instigated a visceral and wild language. DANI NEL·LO reaffirms his career as a successor of this musical tradition, with the aim of keeping alive the light with which those stars of the saxophone tenor shone.
